Could someone please explain what a ladder frame is, as I have read somewhere that the B7XXX series are made with this type of frame. Does it save on weight, if so how does if differ from the older type tractors that don't have a frame? Does this allow the tractor to flex or just to be able to use lighter materials in castings of the tranny and engine block?
Thanks in advance,
Steve

Steve, are you sure they are refering to the frame of the tractor. Normally the ladder frame is a subframe attachment that is required for many front implements. The b-series tractors do have a frame per say, but you may want to look into where the ladder frame reference came from. The frame on these tractors is segmental. An engine mount front frame to the clutch housing, and a center frame piece between the clutch housing and the HST. The 2910 and the 7800 have a subframe that acts to double the center frame piece. Don't look for a steel frame like you would find on a garden tractor. The drive train and the frame are intergral on these machines. ....
